facebook panopticon

The Panopticon is a type of prison building designed by English philosopher and social theorist Jeremy Bentham in 1785. The concept of the design is to allow an observer to observe (-opticon) all (pan-) prisoners without the incarcerated being able to tell whether they are being watched, thereby conveying what one architect has called the "sentiment of an invisible omniscience."[1]
Bentham himself described the Panopticon as "a new mode of obtaining power of mind over mind, in a quantity hitherto without example."[2]

the amazing secret worlds 20-27

letter to a young photographer:

dear victoria noll,

the rough thing about facebook is they assert ownership and they wont let you view much unless you have a profile

i consider it very rude of facebook

from a legal angle that is why i recommend at base flickr picasa or photobucket which have their own problems

there are many other good sites for hosting

it just depends on how secret you want to keep your genius.

also for instance in a photobucket format i could copy one and post it in blog and say look at my genius photgrapher noll's work

but facebook blocks that function

so i can't see any of the photos :( except the first page which is not of me.  but they are beautiful!!!!!

not that i am anti-facebook i just think it is very sad when people try to use it for publicity and dont realize they are limiting themselves to a demographic of 20-27 yr olds
